Paballo Mathosa is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) and an award-winning actuarial professional.

Her accolades include ASSA’s Top Academic Achiever Award, TEDx speaker, M&G Top 200 Young South Africans, ASABA’s Transformative Female Actuary Award, the ABSIP Leadership Award, and Leadership & Philanthropy Awards from the Gauteng Legislature.

Thato Pule is an actuary and recognised leader within the actuarial profession. She has held senior leadership and governance roles across professional bodies, corporate institutions, and non-profit organisations. She is the founder of Tsogang Bathong and currently serves as a non-executive director, with a focus on institutional strengthening, accountability, and mentorship.

Makgomo Ngoepe is a fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) currently working as a finance actuary for Capitec Insurance.

Her passion for working with students led to her heading up outreach for the AWC and being continuously involved in various alumni initiatives with the SAADP bursary program. She shares a similar passion for the broader empowerment of women and black people in the actuarial profession.

Luvhone is an Actuarial analyst at Old Mutual Insure corporate actuarial team, where she joined after completing her undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science at the University of Johannesburg.

Driven by her passion for inspiring positive change, Luvhone has co-founded various initiatives aimed at empowering and uplifting others.

In 2020,she co-founded Rising Females in STEM, where she currently serves as the executive director, creating a supportive network for young women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

In 2021, she played a vital role as the deputy chairperson of the ASABA UJ chapter that she co-founded, dedicated to promoting the representation of South Africa's diverse demographics within the actuarial profession.

Bongiwe is Senior Actuarial Specialist at Liberty, where she designs and implements cloud-based infrastructure for IFRS 17 and management reporting.

Her role sits at the intersection of actuarial modelling, data engineering, and reporting.

Prior to Liberty, the entirety of her experience was in life and health reinsurance - working in Global Health at Reinsurance Group of America and Life Valuations at Munich Re of Africa.

Joined Discovery Life in 2022 through the Adrian Gore Fellowship Award program after obtaining his BSc Honours in Actuarial Science (with Distinction) from Wits University.

Pano works within the advanced analytics team, working at the intersection of product development and data science.

He is passionate about mentorship and uplifting others and is committed to expanding access to opportunity within the actuarial profession.

Anza Tshitovha is an Actuary (AMASSA) and a Broader Africa Pricing and Corporate Actuarial Lead at FNB Life. She studied Actuarial Sciences at Wits University. She is passionate about transformation, mentorship, and developing the next generation of black actuarial professionals, and is committed to advancing ASABA’s mission through active service and leadership.

Mamoshabe Rakoma is a Statistical Analyst working in analytics within the short-term insurance industry at Momentum Insure. She studied Actuarial Science at the University of Johannesburg and co-founded the ASABA Student Chapter at UJ in 2020, serving as its President in the same year. She is passionate about raising awareness of the actuarial profession and helping students navigate the world of work after university.

Annette Hendriksz is an AMASSA currently working in Deloitte’s Actuarial Insurance Solutions department where she has gained three years of professional experience. She serves as the Head of Education Committee within ASABA and is passionate about expanding access to education initiatives, strengthening academic support and growing programs that make a meaningful difference for aspiring actuaries. She is excited to contribute to initiatives that empower and uplift the next generation of actuarial professionals.
